If gates are the portal to the soul, then the joinery and feel of a traditionally made gate is unrivaled. These skills apply to all manner of designs and projects, from traditional to contemporary.
This course is physically demanding, and emotionally perilous. There is a reason they call it
“upsetting”, and this mystery shall be fully explored in this class. There is little wiggle room for guile and cleverness here: this course provides a solid physical challenge and a roller coaster of emotional feelings that even Elvis couldn’t match!
Heel tenons, square and rectangular blockings, hinges, punched and drifted eyes, large upset square corners, dog bars, styles, rails, tension and compression are all part of the skills gleaned during this course and form the vernacular of many a lunchtime conversation.
